There are a total of 12 districts in Himachal Pradesh, Chamba is one of the northern districts among them in Himachal. Chamba is situated on the banks of river Ravi at 1006 meters height above sea level. Because of the mountains and weather conditions of the place, tourists love to visit Chamba. It is well-known for natural as-well-as man-made things which people love to see while trips to Chamba. 1. Khajjiar


Khajjiar is also known as 'Mini-Switzerland' situated at 2000 meters above sea level in the foothill of the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas located approximately 24 kilometers from Dalhousie. If we talk about tourists, they travel with their own or rented vehicles, and bus service to Khajjiar is limited and may change their timing according to local weather. While your stay at Khajjiar you are going to enjoy walking around the lake on a green sheet of grass. If you are planning to visit here in winter you will find approximately 3 feet of snow around the lake. 

2. Dalhousie


Dalhousie is named after 'The Earl of Dalhousie, who was the British Governor General.  This place is situated at 1970 meters height above sea level. You are going to enjoy the environment and weather conditions of this place while you trip. 

3. Chamera lake

Chamera lake is built on the river Ravi. Tourists are also finding it amazing and love to visit this lake because of the fun activities available on the lake. There is one interesting point about the lake is, that the temperature near the lake rises up to 35 degrees during the day and drops to 18-20 degrees at night. The maximum part of this lake is built in the Salooni Sub-division of Chamba. Due to the non-availability of aquatic life government is also trying to convert this lake into a tourist hub.

4. Manimahesh Lake

Manimahesh Lake is also known as 'Dal Lake' situated on Peer Panjal Range near Manimahesh Kailash Peak at 4080 meters above sea level. You can trek to the lake by 2 routes, one is from Hadsar village where you can easily find food and accommodation during your trek, and the second is from village Holi where you can't find food or shelter easily. Pilgrimage trek to the lake in the month of August-September which is known as 'Manimahesh Yatra'.

5. Chaugan

Chamba Chaugan is situated in the main city of Chamba on the banks of the river Ravi at 1006 meters above sea level. You can find accommodation and food very easily here because a large number of hotels and restaurants are available near the Chaugan. The best time to walk on Chaugan is having an evening walk or walking after dinner. You will find real peace of mind while walking on the Chaugan ground.
